Somewhere Along the Utah Border

Since it has been a few months since I have visited St. George, I drove down with my one child to let him visit family and friends, and so I could also spend time with my other kid.

Butt rubs!

The first night, the kids both went to Encircle in town, and so I went over to Snow Canyon to capture some photographs.

Looking east, but I took this to show all the people around the area which you have to work around to get any great photographs.

The next day, while Keith was spending time with a friend dying their hair in our motel room, I spent time shopping and snacking with Max in town. We tried to have a family BBQ that night, but Keith and friend were stuck dying hair until 11 that night.

The next day, the kids and their grandma participated in an event at the college where you could walk in high heels around the block. I would have joined in by wearing heels, but I didn’t want to break my ankle(s). And it’s not if, it’s, I know I would have broken a bone or two… and understanding the effects of growing/age, I want my bones to last.

After dropping Keith off to spend time with more friends at the park and Max wanted to relax, I ventured solo out to Gunlock Falls to capture photos for a couple hours. I will have to visit earlier in March in the future years to get better photos of the falls when the water is just flowing much more wildly due to snow melting.

The mountain in the Shivwits area.
Because of a billboard, I had to take many photos in different locations and stitch them together to get this view/photo.

After, I picked up Max and we drove out to Hurricane to check out their favorite thrift store. We then drove back, picked up Keith, and then had tacos at their grandmas house.

The kids were exhausted from the day and didn’t want to go out anymore, and so I ventured up to the Dixie rock to get photos during and after the sunset. This place was crowded that night, especially near the main rock. So I ventured to a different area and saw rock formations I knew would be wonderful when the sun started going down… the wild flowers are an extra bonus to the pictures.

The next day, the two of us headed out of town. On the way home, I tried to venture over to Little Sahara to show Keith where I spent time camping and adventuring with family as a kid/teen. Due to the park entrance fees, we didn’t go in. I then tried to drive to visit/see our families camping grounds… but you need a better vehicle because the roads turn to rock pebbles (and I didn’t have the best tires at the moment). So I plan on coming back with both kids in the future.
